As Marxist-Leninists, our support for Palestine is not grounded in moral outrage, but in working-class internationalism and a clear understanding of imperialism. On one hand, we have a duty to stand with our class-brothers and sisters in Palestine as they resist colonisation, apartheid, war, and genocide. On the other, we recognise that Zionism is not only a form of imperialism but a settler-colonial project depriving people of their most fundamental political, cultural and social rights. For this reason, Marxist-Leninists uphold the national liberation of Palestine not as a detour from class struggle but as its necessary precondition.

This event will focus on the role of communists within the Palestinian resistance, speaking with comrades from the Palestinian Communist Party and its Youth Union – two organisations actively fighting against Zionist occupation and defending the population under siege. While engaged with the immediate demands of an ongoing war, their position is clear: the fight for liberation cannot abolish the struggle for socialism. For them, resistance is not only about survival, but about laying the groundwork for a future beyond occupation, one that overcomes both national oppression and capitalist exploitation.

We will hear first-hand accounts of life under genocide and explore the challenges of building a revolutionary organisation under occupation. The discussion will also consider the responsibilities of communist in Britain: how we can support the Palestinian movement, and how the Palestinian struggle should inform our approach to organising the working class and building a Communist Party here.
